In Germany, we are one of the leading social research agencies. Our teams are based in Munich and Berlin and comprise around 85 specialist researchers working together to provide knowledge, evidence and insight that helps Government, and the public sector plan and care for society.
 
Role Mission

Due to business growth, we are looking for a talented Director to lead our new Behavioural Practice as part of the senior team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving forward key aspects of our growing behavioural insights research and consultancy offer; for winning new business and building strong client relationships; and for developing a talented and expanding team.
 
The Behavioural Practice shall bring together varied expertise – including behavioural economics and cognitive and social psychology; qualitative and quantitative research methods; creative and design; data analytics; communications consultancy and capability building – to deliver a full-service behavioural offer to government.
 
The Practice will take on a wide range of projects for clients across Government and the wider public sector, tackling issues from environmental behaviours to adult skills and career progression to modern slavery. We advise clients on the opportunities for behaviour change at all stages in the policy cycle; provide insight into what influences individual and organisational behaviours; design interventions and strategies for driving change; and trial and evaluate interventions.
 
Key Responsibilities 

Leadership
  • Build the Behavioural Practice, provide the leadership, direction, and promotion of the Behavioural Practice, ensuring application of specialised knowledge of industry trends, practices and standards.
    Contribute to the leadership Kantar Public, building strong networks within the wider business and strongly influencing its short-term strategy.
Business Generation
  • Expand our behavioral business, including identifying opportunities, building business relationships, and responding successfully to research briefs. 
  • Develop a strong relationship with the client by providing highly specialised advice and guidance, and being a true trusted advisor both internally and externally
  • Develop the evaluation aspects of our behavioural offer by drawing on highly advanced knowledge and skills
Project Oversight
  • Lead and own major projects, ensuring quality in the work we undertake, and solving unique problems that impact significant projects/processes/products. 
  • Contribute to reporting and presentations for varied senior audiences
  • Actively contribute to reputation building activities. 
People Management
  • Recruit and integrate qualified individuals alongside business development. Then:
  • Line manage one or more individuals and support their work and development
  • Assign work to the team to deliver against goals, ensuring each person’s strengths are utilised.  
 
What we are looking for

 You’re likely to be a great fit for the role if you:
 
  • Have a strong track record of using a range of experimental (randomised controlled trials, discrete choice experiments, etc) and quasi-experimental (difference-in-difference, regression discontinuity etc) approaches in multi-stage projects to understand behaviour and test the impact of interventions and strategies for change 
  • Have a strong track record in winning new business in the behavioural insights space, both in response to briefs received from clients and in pro-active lead development
  • Have proven project leadership experience – with a strong and active contribution to shaping and delivering research, consulting with clients, and an ability to respond quickly and work at pace when required
  • Enjoy sharing your skills and experience, training and developing others to help build a thriving and successful team
  • Are ambitious, and interested in innovation and creative thinking – excited by learning curves, being challenged, and solving problems in a fast-moving, competitive environment
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills – writing proposals and preparing deliverables that are engaging, authoritative and insightful
